The following is a direct quote from the Wall street Journal on March 9, 2009. “Cap and trade is the tax that dare not speak its name, and Democrats are hoping in particular that no one notices who would pay for their climate ambitions. With President Obama depending on vast new carbon revenues in his budget and Congress promising a bill by May, perhaps Americans would like to know the deeply unequal ways that climate costs would be distributed across regions and income groups. Politicians love cap and trade because they can claim to be taxing “polluters,” not workers. Hardly. Once the government creates a scarce new commodity — in this case the right to emit carbon — and then mandates that businesses buy it, the costs would inevitably be passed on to all consumers in the form of higher prices.”
Peter Orszag — now Mr. Obama’s budget director — told Congress last year that “Those price increases are essential to the success of a cap-and-trade program.” What he doesn’t mention, is the fact that the hardest hit will be about 95% of working families. This “tax” is going to be regressive because poor and middle-income families spend a larger share of their paychecks on energy, such as gas to drive to work, heat for their homes, and groceries than the rest of the population.
Everyone in this country had better be prepared, or get themselves prepared for a huge increase in our bare cost of living thanks to the above. It is inevitable with the current crop of politicians in charge.
Since the congress of our country is trying to pass, and probably will pass, some form of the carbon trade bill usually called “cap and trade”, our energy costs are set to quadruple in about 12 months from time of passage. This mean the average electric bill for a residence will increase by 400%. This should be the time when we stop throwing money out the window and save some by starting to generate our own electricity.
Whether you want to simply cut your power bills in half or completely get rid of yours, the one stop solution is to learn how to build your own power plant.
Why pay a huge sum of money, like 1000’s of dollars in able to utilize solar or wind power when you have the opportunity to build your own home made system for either wind or solar power for less than $200. Store bought cleaning products often contain harmful chemicals that are hazardous to your entire family. Many of these chemicals are known skin irritants, may cause respiratory problems and in some cases the symptoms can be much worse. Though there is an alternative to buying these products.

Homemade cleaners are known for being very versatile, often serving several jobs unlike their traditional commercial equivalents. They typically require less storage space and many are designed to be safe around your whole family, even pets. In fact, simply using a few basic ingredients found in your kitchen’s pantry or cupboards, you can easily make a variety of homemade cleaners that will work just as well, if not better, than comparible store bought cleaning products.
While there are a number of different cleaning solutions that you could choose to make, I wanted to highlight a few cleaning products in particular. All purpose cleaners, as well as others, have become an integral part of every cleaning chore. We use them to clean our kitchens, bathrooms and many more spaces, but the good ones can become quite costly. Here are a few simple recipes to make your own homemade all purpose cleaner, drain cleaner and a laminate floor cleaner.
I do ask that you please note that before you begin mixing and using any of the following homemade cleaners, you should take the appropriate safety precautions which include wearing eye protection and rubber gloves. The below cleaners are natural based products, but some homemade cleaners are not. Avoid any risk and always be safe when working with any ingredients.
All Purpose Cleaner – In a standard spray bottle mix 1 part Distilled White Vinegar with 2 parts filtered water, along with two to three drops of Castile Soap.
Drain Cleaner – Place 1/4 cup Baking Soda into drain, add 1 cup vinegar, stopper drain tightly, then flush with boiling water.
Laminate Floor Cleaner – In a spray bottle mix 1 part distilled white vinegar and 2 parts filtered water if desired add 2-3 drops liquid Castile Soap. If soap is added, you will need to rinse floor.
Making your own cleaners just doesn’t get any easier than that recipe right there. This particular all purpose cleaner works very well and will clean just about anything.
Whatever you’re cleaning needs may be, you are sure to find everyday products around your house that you can use to make your own homemade cleaners. Most of these will effectively clean different parts of your home and automobile. I can tell you with certainty that after a single year of using my homemade cleaners, it is very unlikely that I will ever go back to buying traditional cleaning products ever again.

The fact that home finance has developed into an immensely diversified and complex business, is a sign of worry as well as joy. There are more ways today for you to borrow money to buy a house than ever before. At the same time, there are also various means by which lenders can take undue advantage of a customer due to the presence of such clauses as hidden costs and penalties levied for prepayment of loans and many more.
Allow your lender to inform you about all the options of home loans and finances available to you, but when you take a final decision, make sure you ask as many questions as you deem necessary. The following questions will help you understand the financial product clearly and make an informed choice:
1) What is the rate of interest?
2) What is the annual percentage rate or APR (APR includes mortgage insurance, points and fees)?
3) How much is the initial rate (in case of ARM is the rate of mortgage adjustable)?
4) What is the maximum rate that can be reached in the following year in case of ARM?
5) How much caps are applicable for lifetime as well as annual payment and what is the rate of interest in case of ARM?
6) Which index is used to act as a reference point for creating rates in case of ARM?
7) How much is the index money that is clubbed with the index (for example in case of ARM it may be 3% over and above the index value)?
Is it mandatory to take a life insurance specifically to cover credit?
9) How much would I have to pay in the absence of such insurance policy?
10) Is it possible to waive any of the costs or fees?
11) Do I have to pay a penalty for prepayment of the loan?
12) How much is the penalty for prepayment?
13) Till what time would the penalty clause be in effect?
14) Do you allow the payment of additional principal amounts?
15) Is it possible to lock-in the rate of interest for a specific time period in order to safe guard against abrupt increase in interest rates?
16) Are you prepared to give me the details of the lock-in period in writing?
17) When do you lock in the rate? do you lock in at the time of application or when the loan is approved?
18) If the interest rate decreases will I get a lower rate too?
19) What are the mandatory inspections and surveys that are to be carried out?
20) Is it mandatory to take title insurance and/or a title search? How much would it cost?
21) Can you give me an approximation of the prepaid sums that I will have to pay at the time of closing?
22) Do you have the provision of availing of discount points to get a lower rate of interest?
23) What are the stamp taxes, local taxes, transfer taxes and state taxes that I will have to pay?
24) Is it required to get a flood determination to ascertain whether the property in question warrants flood insurance?
25) Are there any other costs involved?
26) Do I need to know anything else?
Lenders might not appreciate answering so many questions; however you are entitled to ask all the questions that you want before taking a loan. A one percent higher interest rate would cost you $30,000 more in the long run for a loan of $150,000. Therefore making an informed choice would help you save a lot of money in the long run.
